Sodium hydroxide is required to make the soap, but it is neutralized and disappears in the final product, so all other ingredients are natural, so the product is considered natural. AROMAS DA VILLA uses cold saponification as its artisanal manufacturing method, a chemical reaction that combines extra virgin olive oil (a vegetable oil) with a water-soluble base (sodium hydroxide). This element is consumed after the manufacturing process, so its concentration in the final product is negligible and safe, as shown by several safety assessment studies. As an added safety measure, our soaps are cured for 4 weeks before being placed on the market.
